Home Remedies for Getting Naturally Thick and Long Eyelashes

Women have always wanted to get naturally thick and long eyelashes because of the simple reason that they are considered to add to the beauty of the eyes and also to the oomph of a woman.
It is for this reason that those who are not endowed with long and thick lashes naturally look to cosmetic enhancements like using the mascara, fake eyelashes and eyelash enhancing products available in the market in abundance.
What most women fail to realize at the time of opting for cosmetic treatments is that no artificial enhancer or cosmetic product can ever be a substitute for natural beauty.
Celebrities who use fake eyelashes which extend right till their cheeks have often come in for a lot of flak for being obsessed by falsies.
The chemicals used for sticking fake eyelashes to the upper eyelid have been known to have hideous side effects if used for a prolonged period of time.
And eyelash enhancer 'treatments', which are sure to burn a hole in your pocket, have not always worked on everyone.
The mascara can surely add volume as well as some length to the lashes of the wearer but they can make them look lumpy as well if not applied properly.
The question, then, is what to do if you have not been blessed with comely lashes naturally?
I have always contended that natural treatments work best. Not only do they cost a lot lesser but are also free of side effects.
Home Remedies to Get You Naturally Thick and Long Eyelashes
  1. Women who have thin eyelashes or not very long ones should, first and foremost, pay special attention to their diet and opt for foods that are healthy and nutritious.

  2. Try to keep your eyes make up free as far as possible when you are not going out or can afford togo without eye makeup.

  3. Never go to bed with your eye makeup on. Remove it all with a wet tissue or a cotton ball dabbed with some moisturizer or baby oil and apply some nourishing oil (like castor oil, olive oil or almond oil) to the lashes and allow it to stay on overnight. This oil can be applied using an old mascara brush or gently rubbing it on with fingers. To get rid of the stickiness next morning, just slash your eyes with fresh water.

  4. Applying petroleum jelly overnight is a similar manner has also been known to help.

  5. Some women lose their eyelashes at a very fast rate and are worried over that. To get stronger lashes, mix some egg white with a few drops of castor oil, apply it and keep it on overnight. Doing so regularly has also been known to help.

  6. A very common cause of weak eyelashes is eye dandruff. Check out for that at regular intervals and talk to your doctor if you doubt that you suffer from it because such dandruff weakens the lashes.
Conclusion
Following these simple and time tested home remedies, you can get naturally long and thick eyelashes soon.

Eye Bags a Big Problem for Many Women

Many women are distressed by under-eye bags. The problem is usually temporary but can be long-lasting. Here, you can learn about what can cause the problem and what you can do about it.
There are two basic kinds of bags. There is the temporary puffiness that everyone gets from time to time due to fluid retention in the area. There is also a more permanent kind of bag that can accompany the aging process and is due to a gradual increase in the fatty tissues below the lower eye lids.
Fluid retention can be related to something as simple as the way that you sleep. The fluids may gather mostly on one side because you tend to sleep on that side. If you sleep on your stomach, you are more likely to see bags in the morning. Other causes of fluid retention include:
· Excess salt in the diet
· Alcohol use
· Tobacco smoke
· Crying due to the salt in the tears
Bags can also be caused by "leaky" blood vessels. The tiny vessels beneath the skin can become leaky for a number of reasons. Allergies can cause leaks that lead to swelling around the eyes and in other parts of the face. Leaky blood vessels can also accompany the aging process. A related issue that sometimes accompanies aging is poor fluid circulation.
Inflammation is sometimes involved in the problem. Dermatitis, which is a general inflammation of the skin, can affect the area. Periorbital cellulitis is a type of inflammation and infection that affects the eyelids and the skin around the eyes. If you just have under eye bags, the problem is probably not cellulitis, because there would be a more generalized swelling with that condition.
The problem can be somewhat "circular". Inflammation can cause blood vessels to leak. Leaky blood vessels can stimulate the inflammation process. So what started out as a temporary problem may be experienced more often as one problem leads to another.
Over time, the blood vessels can repair themselves, if they have the right tools. The nutrients in the foods you eat provide the tools the body needs to repair all kinds of damage. Certain nutrients can also keep inflammation in the body to a minimum.
The increase in the size of the fat pad below the lower lids is often accompanied by a general decrease in the skin's fatty tissue layer, as we get older. This can make the problem even more noticeable because the rest of the skin starts to sag and the bags get pulled down even further.
There are surgical procedures for correcting the problem but that expensive solution is not without risks. Before you consider surgery, you should try the "nutraceutical solution".
Nutraceuticals are vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, proteins or other nutrients present in foodstuff that are known to have medicinal or "pharmaceutical" activity. Some of the latest research has focused on the benefits of applying nutraceuticals directly to the skin. When it comes to the problem of eye bags, the results have been quite impressive.

Five Common Mistakes Women Make With Their Complexion

Mistake #1 - You don't commit to your skin care routine, morning and night, 365 days a year. I know it sounds silly, but many people don't follow their skin care routine consistently. Either they are too tired or lack the discipline to follow the routine twice daily. Think about an apple that falls from the tree and lands in the grass: if you leave it there, it will be mush within a couple of weeks. If you pick it up, clean it, protect it and put it into a temperature and moisture controlled environment - you can sell it as a perfect apple in a 3-5 months. Our skin is no different - you must take good care of it to slow down the aging process.

Solution: Follow a proper skin care routine when you get up, and again before you go to bed! Set your alarm clock with the time you need in the morning so you are not rushed. Make it a goal to take care of your skin twice daily!

Mistake #2 - Using expired products. Many ingredients found in skincare products become rancid. This can result in infections, rashes, dry skin and acne. Not to mention that what we put on our skin can enter our bloodstream within 26 seconds.

Solution: Check the expiry dates of your skin care and cosmetics products - especially those in liquid form. When you use your products consistently, you are likely to use them up prior to the expiry date. But if you've been inconsistent or purchased products on sale, or at a discount retailer (meaning that they were likely about to expire in the first place), check the expiry date: if it's passed - replace it as it is likely doing more harm than good.

Mistake #3 - Not using an effective sunscreen. The sun will dry your skin, cause age spots, freckles, fine lines and wrinkles and eventually affect your skins collagen production, leaving your skin less supple and firm.

Solution: Use a good quality facial moisturizer with broad spectrum UVA/UVB (minimum 15) daily. If you are near or on the water, or outside all day, you will need to reapply it every few hours.

Mistake #4 - Using soap to clean your face. I hear it all the time - people running out of their facial cleanser and using soap. Soap contains a number of ingredients that irritate and dry out the skin, including sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), fragrance, Paraben, and other toxic ingredients. Not only does soap commonly irritate the skin, it strips the oily "acid mantle" that actually protects us from bacteria. Once your acid mantle has been stripped, your skin will spend the next 12-14 hours trying to repair it.

Solution: When you notice your cleanser is getting low, pick up another one, and if time is a factor, have your husband or partner pick it up - they benefit from your wellbeing! Substituting soap or another product for a few days could cause irritations that might take weeks to settle down again.

Mistake #5 -Purchasing skin care based on advertising and marketing hype. As our population ages, anti-aging cosmetics have become a booming trend. As with any trend, many companies without any experience are quick to jump in to get a piece of the pie.

Solution: Look for a brand with at least a decade or two of experience producing quality anti-aging products that are proven safe and effective. Ideally, products will be vegan, botanically based, and free of known toxins including: Fragrance, Paraben, Toluene, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate (SLS), Phthalates and Formaldehyde Donating Preservatives. Don't let your face be a victim of some company's fad. Remember, marketing can push a lot of questionable products, making companies millions (Pet Rocks anyone?)

DIY Gorgeous Face Make Up For an Evening Party

Every woman wants to look her best, especially in a party, where there will be hundreds of other beautiful looking women. Yes, we have often heard that inner beauty counts more than outer attractiveness. But, that thought can be given a break sometimes. Working on your facial looks is as important as being good from within. A naturally beautiful face can look more charming, when you apply a perfect blend of makeup.

Are you getting ready for an evening party? Then you are surely wearing your best evening gown, a pair of stylish stilettos, and carrying an attractive hairdo. You can be the diva of the evening with these 'easy to follow' make up tips.

First of all, it is very necessary to hydrate your skin before starting to apply makeup. Spray some clean water or rub your face and neck with a few cubes of ice. This will help even out your skin and make it supple. Apply a good moisturizer on your face and neck to have a better makeup experience. Now it is time to use a primer, which will help you apply the concealer and foundation. The primer should be used on the entire face and neck as it aids in minimizing pores and makes the makeup last longer.

Concealers are available in a variety of tints. Use the one that matches your skin tone and cover all the problem areas, like spots and blemishes. Select a foundation that is of the same shade as your skin and apply it on your face and neck. Blend the foundation well, giving your facial skin a flawless look. After you have applied the foundation evenly on your face and neck, you are ready to play with different shades of colours. A blush will provide you with rosy and highlighted cheeks. This is a good reason to smile. So smile, and apply a shade of blush using a brush on the apple of your cheeks. Blend the colour from the cheeks upwards towards the hairline. Keep in mind not to apply blush below the cheekbone. A darker dash of pink on your cheeks will go well with the evening party mood.

Do you want to make people drool over you throughout the party? Work on your eyes for that. Beautiful eyes can grab a lot of attention, which is enough to make you the center of attraction. Define your eyes and brows with an eye pencil that is one shade lighter than the colour of your eyebrows. It highlights the eyes and makes it look magnificent. Decorate your eyes with a lighter shade of an eye shadow that suits the colour of your dress; spread it evenly on the eye lid. Take a darker shade of eye shadow of the same colour and enhance the outer corner of the eye. Then, apply a black eye liner on the lash line of your eye. Do not forget to apply a few coats of mascara on your eye lashes. Your eyes are now ready to create the magic.

To finish this sultry evening look, add some colour to your lips as well. Outline the lips with a pencil. This will create a good shape of your lips. Fill in with a coat of lipstick, possibly a dark and bright shade. Apply a matching shiny gloss to add glitter to your lips!

Quick Eye Makeup Tips

The key point to remember is that when you are learning how to apply eye makeup is to ensure that you are drawing attention to your eyes and not doing something that will end up taking the focus of attention away. The basic purpose of all makeup is to enhance your overall appearance and this is especially important when it comes to applying eye makeup. The eye makeup tips in the following article will help you achieve this quickly and easily.
Asian beauties have lovely, sexy and seductive eyes that many makeup artists from around the world love to paint. The right eye make up can really make them look dreamy and alluring. Some tips for a perfect Asian eye makeup:

• Eye shadow colors such as taupe, shimmery white, charcoal Grey makes Asian eyes look gorgeous. Especially if you have a porcelain skin, then almost every color will suit you.

• How should your brows be done? Well-groomed brows and fill in the brows with an eye brow pencil one shade lighter than your original hair color  Draw you brows in such a way as to create an arch and fill in the sparse space.

• Give a wash of a light color eye shadow over your entire lid. Then softly line your upper and lower lash line with a kohl or kajal. You may also use a liquid eyeliner. A thin line of blue eye shadow over the black eyeliner will beautifully pop out your eyes.

• Always apply a base to your eyelids for the color to stay intact for a longer time.

• Whenever you do smokey eyes never apply foundation or under eye concealer before eye makeup. As smokey eyes are usually dark, the dark eye shadow particles will fall on your face ruining the rest of your makeup.

• Apply the darkest color eye shadow all over the lid and crease, depending upon the shape of your eye and the look you want to get. If you want to make round eyes look longer, apply dark eye shadow color in the crease and blend it upward and outward toward the brow bone.

• Asian eyes have characteristically spike lashes. So an eyelash curler and mascara is a must have in every Asian girls vanity.

Smokey eyes look good with almost every eye shape. But there are some basic golden rules to follow when doing smokey eye makeup.

• As for the eyeliner, when doing smokey eyes, apply liner along the full length of your upper lash line and only 3/4th's of your lower lash starting from the outer corner.

A pink eye makeup looks feminine and gives you a chic image. But its always better if the eye make up is a bit shimmery or sparkling.

• When you wear a pink eye shadow makeup, don't just limit it to the lid, draw it a little on the outer corner making a V-shape.

• And then with a black eyeliner or kajal, draw thin line on your upper lash line extending it a bit towards the V-shape.

Different Make Ups for Eye

Close set eyes

The shadows of close set eyes are reversed, with the darker tones on the outer corners of the eyes. In this case, line only the outer half of the eye and use more mascara at the outer corner to create an illusion of width. Dab a little silver or pearly white shadow at the inner corner right next to the nose.

Wide set eyes

For women who have wide set eyes, you can visually reduce the range between your eyes if you apply a darker tint of eyeshadows from the outer corner of your eye to the middle of the eyelid. Apply a lighter eye shadow from the middle of your eyelid to the inner corner of your eye. Blend in different shades in the middle of the eyelid.

Wine set eyes

If you have deep set eyes, choose light and nacreous tints of eyeshadows, it would help to make your eyes appear visually bigger. Apply light eyeshadows on your eyelid from the inner corner of your eye to the outer and a bit further. Light colors should be applied in the middle of the lid, and darker colors – on and just above the socket line. Blend the darker shade up and out.

Down turned eyes
Since the eye structure is down turned, women under this category need to use the eye colour in strokes that go upward and out. Apply eyeliner close to the upper lash line and then blend in the shadow along the socket line in the outer two thirds of the eyes. For a better visual appeal, apply dense mascara.

Hooded eyes
In this type of eyes, the eyelids appear partially closed. Use a light highlighter on the brow bone, a medium shade along the entire lid and a darker contour shade towards the outer eye. Finish with liner and mascara and your eyes will display a beauty and exuberance most radiant!
