How to Get That Perfect Glow on Your Wedding Day

It's your day! With all eyes on you, you'll want to look flawless on your wedding day. Planning the perfect wedding can be stressful and stress can wreck havoc on your skin. Developing and committing to a beauty regimen early on can help ensure your skin is glowing when your big day comes.

You should consider getting regular facials. Deep cleaning the skin will help prevent outbreaks before they get the chance to start. Six months before your wedding day schedule monthly facials with a skilled esthetician. In between appointments make sure you are cleaning, toning and moisturizing your skin (especially during winter). Planning ahead will save you from emergency skin treatments closer to your wedding day-- no one needs that.

If regular trips to the salon are not in your budget, you can give yourself a facial at home. For the best at home facial follow these steps:
Cleanse: Remove all makeup and then scrub all areas of your face and neck with a good cleanser and warm water. Use circular motions with a washcloth to get a complete all over cleanse.
Exfoliate: Rub a gentle exfoliator all over your face being careful not to get the product in your eyes. The most important areas to exfoliate are the nose and forehead (and any other oily zones you have). Don't forget to exfoliate your neck and chest as well.
Open Pores: Cover your face with a hot damp towel leaving space to breathe. If you have an aromatherapy spray you can use it on the towel to enhance your experience. Keep your face covered for several minutes to allow your pores to open.
Apply a Mask: Choose a mask that best suits your complexion. Clay masks are best for oily skin and cream or gel masks are better suited for dry skin. Apply the mask using your finger tips or a brush avoiding your eyes. Let the mask set for the specified amount of time and relax.
Rinse and Moisturize: Wipe off your mark using a warm wet towel paying special attention to the areas when the mask could hide (nose and hair line). Once you have fully removed the mask, apply a creamy thick facial moisturizer all over your face, neck and chest.

Facials are the ultimate way to clean your face and relax- two things I'm sure you'll need leading up to your wedding. Another great way to give yourself a healthy glow is tanning.

You do not have to expose your newly cleansed skin to harmful UVB rays to get a healthy glow. Many tanning salons offer tanning lotions, spray tans and airbrush tans. Using a tanning solution will give you the same results as the sun without all the harmful side effects. You should start building your tan one month before your wedding date. You'll need the extra time to fine-tune your technique and find the right combination of products. You should not give yourself a facial after applying a tanning product as it will remove the product and your tan leaving your face awkwardly lighter in color than the rest of your body. Clear sun kissed skin is the perfect accessory on your wedding day. Cheers!
