Home Remedies For Rosacea

Symptoms
Redness of the face
Blushing or flushing easily
A lot of spider-like blood vessels (telangiectasia) of the face
Red nose (called a bulbous nose)
Acne-like skin sores that may ooze or crust
Burning or stinging feeling in the face
Irritated, bloodshot, watery eyes.

Foods You Should Avoid
The National Rosacea Society has recommended that rosacea sufferers avoid the intake of certain foods. Spicy foods and alcohol are known to worsen rosacea, so strictly steer clear of them. Do not eat foods with high levels of trans fats, fructose and sugars. Refrain from eating dairy products, gluten and peanuts, since these foods spark off rosacea.

Rosacea patients ought to avoid exposure to extremely cold or hot temperatures. Do not use a strong facial scrub or a hot shower, since these worsen Rosacea flare-ups. Avoid stressful situations and keep your skin cold. If you need to go outdoors, ensure that you use sun protection, as exposure to the sun is one of the rosacea triggers.

Method of Treatment
  1. There is no known cure for rosacea.
  2. Your doctor will help you identify the things that make your symptoms worse. These are called triggers. Avoiding your triggers may help you prevent or reduce flare-ups.
  3. Here are some steps that may help ease or prevent symptoms:
  4. Avoid sun exposure. Use sunscreen every day.
  5. Avoid a lot of activity in hot weather.
  6. Try to reduce stress. Try deep breathing, yoga, or other relaxation techniques.
  7. Limit spicy foods, alcohol, and hot beverages.
  8. Triggers vary from person to person. Other triggers may include wind, hot baths, cold weather, specific skin products, exercise, or other factors.
  9. Other medications (isoretinol or Accutane), which are similar to vitamin A, are stronger alternatives that your doctor or dermatologist might consider.
  10. Rosacea is not acne and will not improve with over-the-counter acne treatment.
  11. In severe cases, laser surgery may help reduce the redness. Surgery to remove some swollen nose tissue may also improve your appearance.
